At The Glasgow College of Printing ( now Metropolitan College) in 1973 I completed my studies in General Photography, which included, commercial, industrial., and practical photography. Later, with the relevant experience and through examination I became a licentiate member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers ( BIPP )

As a freelance photographer based in Scotland my clients included, musicians and  music agencies, advertising,  commerial firms,  portrait and wedding photography.
An integral part of my professional activities were in Medical, Scientific, Biological  Photography / Illustration Departments ( including Film and Video Production) for universities and medical centers in Scotland.

In the 1980’s I lived in for some time in Kuwait and was involved there on behalf of the Kuwaiti government in the development  and comissioning of Muti- Media / Audio Visual  departments.
After being based back Scotland , I was invitedto return to Kuwait on a number of occasions to pass on my experience and knowledge in the context of intensive photography workshops  which I was plaesed to do.

Since 1995, Bremen is my adopted home . Here I have  established ‘Ian Binnie - Living Photography’ and capture for my clients important events, special designs and unique moments with. When asked I also travel for photo-shoots ,in  Holland, Poland, England to name a few I also travel back to Scotland which is one of my favourite places to photograph.
